Why Disney Cruise Line Is My Favorite Vacations for Multi-Generational Families

There’s something incredibly special about a vacation that brings grandparents, parents, and kids together in one place. But if you’ve ever tried to plan a multi-generational family trip, you already know it can come with a lot of moving parts.

• Different ages.

• Different interests.

• Different energy levels.

• Different ideas of what a “relaxing vacation” should look like.

That’s exactly why Disney Cruise Line is one of my favorite vacations to recommend for multi-generational families. Because somehow, Disney manages to create a vacation where everyone can have the experience they want without the family having to split up the entire trip to make it happen. When you’re trying to make grandparents, parents, toddlers, big kids, and maybe even teenagers all happy at the same time...that matters.

Everyone Can Vacation Differently Without Feeling Disconnected

One of the things I love most about Disney Cruise Line for multi-generational families is that no one has to vacation exactly the same way to still feel like they vacationed together.

Tweens and teens have spaces designed just for them, plus the independence of being able to enjoy parts of the ship on their own. Parents can enjoy the balance of family time and a little breathing room. Grandparents can enjoy beautiful ships, excellent entertainment, great dining, and the joy of watching the younger generations experience it all together...and if some of the adults want a little break, there are adults-only spaces, lounges, spa experiences, and specialty dining too.

This may sound simple, but I think it’s one of the most underrated parts of a Disney cruise, especially for bigger families.

• Your transportation between destinations is taken care of.

• Your entertainment is built in.

• Your dining rotation is already planned for you.

• You aren’t loading and unloading everyone into cars every day.

• You aren’t juggling park reservations, dining reservations, transportation logistics, and a dozen different schedules.

That kind of simplicity matters even more when you’re traveling with multiple generations. Disney Cruise Line gives families the chance to focus more on being together and less on managing the vacation.
